How RFID Radiant Barrier Insulation Works
Radiant barrier insulation uses a highly reflective surface to block radiant heat transfer. Instead of absorbing heat like traditional insulation, it reflects energy away from the building envelope
When installed in attics, roof systems, or walls, it helps prevent heat from entering living spaces—improving comfort and reducing energy use.
In attic applications, this system works similarly to attic foil insulation, reflecting heat before it builds up in the attic space.
For roof deck installations, it can also function as radiant barrier roofing insulation, stopping heat at the highest point of the structure.

ES® Reflective Underlayment RFID radiant barrier provides enhanced water-resistance and protection from the elements. Our underlayment is made from long-lasting polymers, which provide added strength and longevity. When installed correctly, this type of underlayment offers better protection from the weather than felt.
In addition, we added a special “anti-slip” surface to the the blue polyethylene to protect roofers from slippage during installation. This coated material resists delamination and is available in solid rolls. Perforated rolls are available upon request depending on application.

ES® RadiantShield radiant barrier is our unique underlayment that can be easily installed over decking and underneath tiles or shingles to give an added degree of reflective insulation at minimal cost.
This product can be installed over felt or in lieu of felt – depending on personal preference. To increase thermal properties, we recommend using spacers during installation.
